Graduates of GUGCS will be prepared to attend high-performing schools where their interdisciplinary academic foundation, knowledge of sustainability, and a strong sense of self set them apart as leaders and social justice advocates of the future.Position Overview: The Student Recruitment & Outreach Coordinator will find and engage prospective students, develop relationships and correspond with prospective families, plan and host family events, and represent GUG at a variety of community events. You will manage relationships with local schools and community-based organizations to build and diversify an annual applicant pool for Growing Up Green Charter School while developing, coordinating, and implementing effective recruitment and social media campaigns.To be successful in this role, the Student Recruitment & Outreach Coordinator brings a track record for designing and implementing successful recruitment, advocacy, or marketing strategies, especially in creating interpersonal connections with folks from diverse backgrounds. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, comfortable talking to lots of folks from diverse backgrounds, be able to work flexible hours/days (including evenings and weekends), and have experience in community organizing, marketing, and/or charter school student recruitment and enrollment.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Finding and Recruiting Students & FamiliesDevise, manage, and implement recruitment strategies and operational plans that support the recruitment of students to attend Growing Up Green Charter Schools.Canvass neighborhoods, local organizations, and feeder-district preschools to find prospective families to engage and recruit while cultivating a rich and positive experience.Drive applications by flyering local organizations and businesses, and by tabling and providing marketing materials in high traffic locations and local community events.Pro-actively make connections with in-district schools and community organizations, and participate in all aspects of student recruitment including direct outreach and external school visits.Convert connections with families into leads by following up in a timely fashion, answering questions about the schools, helping families complete our application, and eventually enrolling at GUG.Plan, lead, and/or attend a variety of student recruitment and community events such as fairs, family events, open houses, tours, and presentations to forge meaningful connections with students and families to promote GUG - some might be on evenings or weekends.Meet monthly and annual targets for student/family leads, student applications submitted, and enrolled students at GUG's four campuses.Implementing Recruitment StrategiesBe a champion, ambassador, and the key representative of all things Growing Up Green, including our mission, vision, core values, academic programming, specials courses, clubs, sports, field trips, high school acceptance data, and more.Collaborate effectively with the operations and leadership teams to ensure recruitment initiatives and strategies are relevant.Keep detailed notes, records, and tracking systems for all family encounters to determine where they are in the process, when to follow up, and any other helpful information.Be in regular, frequent communication with families with updates and important next steps for the enrollment process.Manage, train, and coach our operations and main office enrollment and canvassing team, while also leading all canvassing efforts.Serve as a central point of contact for school-based operations teammates as they execute enrollment efforts for their campuses.Support with the school's application, lottery, and enrollment systems.Complete other enrollment and marketing-related tasks as designated by the Director of Enrollment & Data Operations.Assist with the management of the annual lottery and student enrollment process in compliance with state charter school laws.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree required.Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in enrollment management, student recruitment, community outreach, community organizing, political advocacy, or related field.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.Outgoing personality, excellent relationship management and customer service skills.Strong public speaking skills and comfortable interacting with people from diverse backgrounds.Ability to travel around Queens between our four school campuses and local organizations, schools, etc.Demonstrated experience in leading and managing recruitment strategies and goals.Excellent written, oral, and verbal communication skills.Queens native/local preferred .Salary range is $60,000-$70,000.Required Certificates & Licenses: NYC DOE/Fingerprinting & Background Clearance.#J-18808-Ljbffr
