Throughout our history, we have remained rooted in honesty, respect, and loyalty to provide a year-round supply of high-quality fruit from field to fork.JOB SUMMARYUnder the supervision of the Global Packaging Manager, the Global Packaging Specialist will assist in optimizing packaging procedures, generating efficiencies, and ensuring accuracy. Using best practices to ensure that product and package integrity is maintained throughout our distribution will be necessary for this position. To ensure timely completion of all packaging projects, this role will work closely with all cross-functional teams. Among the duties will be quality control, supply oversight, and review of global specifications. He or she will proactively communicate and ensure that all deliverables are completed within the provided timelines.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead packaging initiatives independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing technical insights for broader projects.
  • Lead and execute technical/testing to validate package design and performance. Must be able to understand the form, fit, and function process of new packaging.
  • Ability to review and create specifications.
  • Partner and effectively communicate with key cross-functional team members, including Sales, Operations, Marketing, and Quality Assurance.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing partners to identify packaging constraints and suggest enhancements or alternatives on new launch packaging.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with key customer support teams.
  • Must be able to confidently navigate and input packaging information onto customer dashboards.
  • Lead and execute purchase orders for packaging material.
  • Create PowerPoint presentations that highlight and track project details.
  • Assist with the evaluation of the non-conformity reports and determine the proper resolution.
  • Assist with the monitoring of slow moving/obsolete packaging.
  • Work with appropriate team members to transfer packaging material within US and International facilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in business or another related field. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education. Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in either a purchasing, or packaging, quality assurance background. Must be bilingual (English and Spanish) Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and D365.) Excellent communication, customer service, written and phone skills. Strong ability to work independently and remain self-motivated with minimal direct supervision. Excellent ability to strategize and plan effectively under pressure. Must be able to analyze data and translate it into key actionable insights and actions. Excellent ability to multi-task projects/assignments. Ability to follow directions without deviation. Must be able to thrive in a team working environment. Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels of the organization. Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail. Must be able to type a minimum of 45 WPM. Experience with 10-key is preferred - 12,000 KPH. Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
