Job Overview:RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Patient Monitor for our Sitter Unit, in our New Brunswick Facility.Qualifications:Required:* High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.* Basic Life Support (CPR) through American Heart AssociationScheduling Requirements:* Night Shift, 32 hours per week, 11p-7:30a, includes every other weekend and holidays.Essential Functions:Complies with patient care decisions made by the professional staff and accepts responsibility for following instructions, fulfilling assignments and learning from feedbackFollows all Suicidal Precautions and Close Observation monitoring policies and proceduresObserves and reports patient s conditions, behavior, and complaints to the nurseMaintains strict patient confidentialityObserves and applies appropriate interventionsMaintains a safe and orderly work/patient care environmentAssists patients with daily living activities (i.e.; feeding, dressing patients, showering/bathing).Transfers, escorts, transports, and ambulates patientsAssures patients have correct ID bandsResponds to emergencies in an appropriate mannerHandles and disposes of infectious and hazardous materials per policies and proceduresMaintains standards of behavior as established in the Organizational Ethics Codes of Conduct PolicyPatient MonitoringMaintains confidentiality of patient informationSuicide Monitoring: Maintains safety of patients by remaining within an arms distance at all timesClose Observations: maintains safety of close observation patients per policySafe Patient HandlingEffective use of Handle with Care TechniquesOther Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
