Packer - Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Packer is responsible for theoperation of the manufacturing line and completion of associated documentation by assisting Machine Operator and/or Line Lead. This position also monitors compliance with safety protocols and ensures product quality based on specifications. The main goal of the Packer is to help achieve the production standards within the production timeframe.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities: - Inspects finished product prior to packaging
- Moves finished pallets to the shipping and storage facility
- Cleans and organizes the filling line
- Escalates maintenance issues to the Machine Operator or Line Lead
- Assists the Machine Operator in performing the set up on equipment
- Other associated task as instructed by the leader
Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
- Able to read and follow written instructions
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide with the aid of a calculator
- Flexibility to work overtime
- Basic computer skills
Physical Demands:
- Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Be able to push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds
- Be able to work 8 - 12 hour shifts
- Perform repetitive tasks
- Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk
- Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and balance; sometimes in awkward or tight spaces
- Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
PPE Requirements: - Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe)
- Safety Glasses
- Protective Gloves; when performing certain tasks
- Hearing Protection; when required
- Other personal protective equipment as required for certain tasks
Work Environment: - Air Temperatures can range from cold to hot
- Atmosphere may contain dust, fumes and odors
- May include mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive and radiation hazards
