Overview:

Position Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers, as well as developing and implementing outreach programs to raise awareness about domestic violence and the services provided by St. Jude House. This position will work closely with community partners, local organizations, and the public to promote the mission of St. Jude House and support survivors of domestic violence.

Essential Functions, Key Duties, & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to raise awareness about domestic violence and St. Jude House services.
  • Organize community events, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, local organizations, and stakeholders.
  • Create educational materials and resources for distribution.
  • Represent St. Jude House at community events and meetings.
  • Recruit, screen, and train new volunteers.
  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer information, activities, and outreach efforts.
  • Prepare reports and presentations of volunteer records for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Listen and respond to correspondence and phone inquiries.
  • Match volunteers to appropriate opportunities based on their skills and interests.
  • Provide ongoing support and supervision to volunteers, recognizing and rewarding volunteer contributions.
  • Assist with management of social media accounts and create engaging content.
  • Write press releases and newsletters.
  • Help coordinate media coverage and public relations efforts to promote the organization's mission and services to the public.

Position Requirements

Education: High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelors degree in social work, psychology, or related field preferred

Licenses/Certifications: N/A

Experience: 2+ years of volunteer management and/or community outreach experience
