At the discretion of the hiring department, this position posting may close once a sufficient number of qualified applications have been received.Salary Range: Up to $31,975 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.Hours: up to 40 hours per week, non-exempt.Required Application Materials:* Resume is required.* Cover Letter is preferred.Essential FunctionsJob SummaryPerform various manual tasks necessary to complete work order assignments for the Physical Plant.Core Responsibilities* Responsible for the completion of assigned work with supervision from the crew leader.* Works as a team member to load, unload, and move furniture and equipment at different locations including file cabinets, supplies, and mail among university buildings; sets up and tears down all necessary furniture for special functions.* Drives trucks and operates power equipment on trucks and transports equipment to be salvaged.* Performs custodial duties and basic painting and construction work.* Promotes safety and environmental protection by immediately reporting unsafe situations, spills, and accidents; following University safety plans/procedures/protocols; and participating in appropriate safety training.* Performs other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications* Minimum 6th grade education.* Valid Texas Driver's License.* Knowledge of tools and equipment used in the moving trade.* Knowledge of motor vehicle equipment, ranging in size from forklifts to 2 ½ ton trucks.Additional Information* UTSA is a tobacco free campus.* This is a security sensitive position. Employment is contingent upon a successful background check.* Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.* Valid driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) as applicable.Working ConditionsWorking Environment:* Conditions vary according to the type and place where work is being performed.* Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions.* Occasional overtime duty required on nights, weekends, and holidays in connection with athletic events and special programs.Physical Demands:* Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects with or without accommodation.This position will be primarily located on campus.
