Textile Print, Pattern and Graphic Designer - SwimwearCandidate MUST come from the apparel industry We are seeking a Print, Pattern, and Graphic Designer for Swimwear. This is a role for a trend-forward designer with expertise in the mass-market junior customer. Responsibilities:
  • Drive and collaborate on developing seasonal patterns, color, and graphics from concept through execution for line plans and special product launches.
  • Collaborate with design leads/merchants to identify the overarching category needs that tie into the seasonal concept.
  • Create artwork & colorways for yard dyes, jacquard, and special fabric developments.
  • Ensure that the print charts/walls/archives/boards are in working order and up to date for all teams to use as a reference.
  • Leverage resources to source new ideas internally and externally and conduct ongoing competitor research/trend analysis.
  • Synthesize trend research analysis with pattern and color ideation, delivery needs, and production techniques.
  • The candidate should understand the junior customer, the brand's visual DNA, and the use of color, pattern, and graphic assets. The candidate should also review opportunities and successes with trend relevance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Fashion, Textiles or Surface Pattern Design
  • 4+ years of relevant design experience, some or all specific to print & textile design
  • Strong computer knowledge, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to hand sketch
  • Have a good understanding of print processes & techniques on a production & mill level
  • Experience in placement / engineered prints and how to format these to sketches & pattern pieces
  • Strong design and conceptual skills, sense of style and color.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, ability to form partnerships to collaborate, influence and drive change
Salary Range: $90K to $110K, dependent on experience, Full Benefits, NYC Midtown, 4/1 Hybrid
