Overview:

Empire Pipe and Supply, a leading distributer of underground utilities, is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and exceptional service within our supply chain and customer service operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a range of operational tasks, ensuring the smooth functioning of our business processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Operations Management:

Oversee and manage the daily operations edit list to ensure all data is accurate and up-to-date.

Conduct cash reconciliations and manage the AP/PO (Accounts Payable/Purchase Order) report to maintain financial accuracy.

Address negative on-hand inventory issues and manage items on hand with no cost to ensure inventory accuracy.

Analyze low stock advisory reports and backorder reports to optimize stock levels and minimize backorders.

Oversee the processing of backorders that are fillable to meet customer needs promptly.

Purchasing and Inventory:

Coordinate purchasing activities, including buy-back operations, to optimize inventory levels and reduce excess stock.

Conduct regular meetings with project managers to align operational activities with project requirements and timelines.

Implement and oversee cycle count processes to ensure inventory accuracy and integrity.

Customer and Team Management:

Handle customer calls and inquiries, providing exceptional service and resolving issues efficiently.

Lead and develop the operations team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as an Operations Manager or similar role, preferably within the construction/engineering supply industry.

Strong understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles.

Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.

Proficient in using inventory management software and tools.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
