The Senior Nutrition Assistant - 40 Hours at Pike CAC will work closely with the Senior Programs Manager, Senior Programs Lead Cook, Senior Programs Assistant Cook, Senior Programs Assistant, Senior Nutrition Assistant and Senior Programs Driver/Nutrition Aide to provide vital, high-quality senior programs to Pike County.Essential Functions…Functional Area: Central Kitchen OperationsEstimated Effort: 55%Responsibilities, Deliverables, Outcomes and Expectations* Responsible for the preparation of large quantities of food, and for cold components of home delivered and congregate meals.* Properly pack hot and cold meals for home-delivered meal clients, following proper temperature procedures.* Responsible for preparing and packing cold meals for home-delivered meal clients* Assist with the preparation and packing of Early Childhood program breakfast, lunch, and snack.* Responsible for processing daily meal cancelations and resumptions and ensuring drivers are notified of changes.* Responsible for adding new clients to meal routes and provide information to meal drivers.* Maintain certifications and attend required training per Senior Programs Policy, Food Safety guidance, and funding requirements.* Prepare large quantities of food read/convert recipes.* Deliver assigned home delivered meal route.* Deliver meals to and pickup from Early Childhood sites assigned.* Deliver Summer Food Service Program Meals to assigned site.* Maintain ServSafe Certification.* Maintain certifications and attend required training per Senior Programs policy, Food Safety guidance, and funding requirements.Functional Area: Inventory, Cleaning, and StockingEstimated Effort: 35%Responsibilities, Deliverables, Outcomes and Expectations* Assist with cleaning, sanitizing and dish washing in the central kitchen.* Assist with cleaning and sanitizing Early Childhood dishes.* Responsible for cleaning and ongoing organization of packing area shelves, walk-in cooler, and freezer.* Assist with kitchen equipment regular maintenance and upkeep; notify the Senior Programs Manager when repairs are needed.* Ensure meal carriers are clean, stored properly, in good working order; promptly notify the Senior Programs Manager when replacement is needed.* Complete inventory data entry and assist with maintaining perpetual inventory in cold pack area.* Assist with ordering and checking in deliveries when needed. Verify receipt of items, condition of products and ensure safe delivery.* Complete Senior Center cleaning tasks as assigned by the Senior Programs Lead Cook, Senior Programs Assistant Cook, and Senior Programs Manager.Functional Area: Agency ServiceEstimated Effort: 10%Responsibilities, Deliverables, Outcomes and Expectations* CAC Committee assignments, and other agency service duties as assigned.* Liaison between clients and senior programs.Education:* High School Diploma or equivalentJob-Related Experience:* Valid Ohio Driver's License, clean driving record, reliable transportation, insurable under agency policy.* Completion of program related and criminal background checks.* 1 year of food service or commercial kitchen experience.* Proficiency with ready road maps and using GPS.People Management Experience:* Friendly, professional, and courteous demeanor.Licenses, Certifications, and Accreditations:* Obtain ServSafe Certification within 6 months of hire.Preferred Qualifications…* Preference given to individuals with a current ServSafe certification* Preference given to individuals with delivery driving experience.* Preference given to individuals with computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.Working Conditions…* Must be able to lift 40 pounds* Required to stand for long periods of time; lifting on a regular basis; work in a hot area* Drive in variable weather conditions and enter/exit a vehicle multiple times each day.* May be exposed to communicable diseases and environmental conditions such as bed bugs, etc.
