Job Title: Scheduling Coordinator (Transplant Services)

Client: University of Southern California (USC)

Location: Keck Medical Center, 2011 N. Soto Street, SST Soto Street Building Two (333), Los Angeles, CA

Work Type: 100% Onsite

Duration: 13 Weeks (Potential for Extension)

Start Date: ASAP

Shift: 8-hour Day Shift, Monday - Friday

Position Overview:

USC's Keck Medical Center is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Scheduling Coordinator to support the Kidney Acquisition team. This role is essential in coordinating transplant-related services, ensuring that patients receive timely and efficient care throughout their transplant journey. The Scheduling Coordinator will work closely with clinical, financial, and data management teams to facilitate scheduling, manage patient interactions, and streamline services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule transplant-related services to minimize patient visits and ensure timely care delivery.
  • Monitor patient progress through transplant phases, coordinating necessary testing and validating financial clearance.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, coordinating appointments and managing patient inquiries both in person and by phone.
  • Communicate with clinicians regarding patient status, including testing completion and compliance.
  • Collaborate with ancillary departments to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements to enhance patient care.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; AA or BA/BS preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
  • Preferred experience in medical scheduling, transplant processes, or related healthcare fields.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and the ability to learn electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Bilingual fluency is highly preferred, with certification as a department translator preferred.
