Provides support for Marketing initiatives, campaign planning, and customer outreach. Creates, builds, and maintains relationships with community organizations on behalf of Odawa Casino Resort to increase and promote a positive image throughout our local community with focused duties on the planning and execution of all community outreach giving and volunteer programs, and community events. Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Represent Odawa Casino Resort in the most positive manner with internal and external guests to satisfy service expectations. Interacts effectively with a diverse group of guests and Team Members, learns and uses operating practices of the department and the organization.
- Manage company giving programs including donation request and sponsorship fulfillment.
- Manage company partnership programs with local businesses and tourism attractions.
- Build and maintain partnerships with local businesses and organizations to identify innovative ways to engage customers and strengthen community ties.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and reports on community initiatives and support.
- Greet all guests and Team Members in a friendly, open manner.
- Conducts oneself in a positive and professional manner, acting as a role model for all Team Members.
- Maintain knowledge of all current and upcoming promotions and events at Odawa Casino Resort.
- Attend Chamber of Commerce, Convention and Visitors Bureau, Community meetings and build relationships with community organizations.
- Serve on non-profit boards as requested.
- Deliver compelling and informative presentations to the community, communicating key messages and fostering engagement.
- Maintain a calendar of trade shows, conferences, special events, community events, parades, etc., and manage booking, setup, and overall coordination for each.
- Responsible for developing a plan for community involvement and recommending it for approval with the goal of maximizing the goodwill the Enterprise and the Tribe receive.
- Establish processes and procedures for handling public inquiries, complaints, publication of information deemed relevant to the community, and emergency situations.
- Ensure established policies and procedures/departmental operating procedures are utilized at all times.
- Report at regular departmental staff meetings to provide communication to staff to ensure successful management of all hospitality efforts.
- Attend all meetings as required.
- Complete all required training satisfactorily.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
- Requires, at minimum, quarterly travel to our Mackinaw location.
- Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

- Associate's degree in marketing, journalism and/or communications.
- Two (2) years' work-related experience within a casino environment preferred.
- Must have good working experience with Microsoft Office products or related software and the ability to quickly learn specialized software programs.
- Must read, write and speak English fluently.
- Must have basic math skills.
- Must be able to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
- Excellent customer/client relation skills required.
- Must possess an engaging personality with strong skills in building relationships and encouraging teamwork with internal and external personnel
- Must be a self starter and require little supervision.
- Must take the initiative to develop new plans and programs.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills are required.
- Must have ability to deal effectively with diverse and challenging situations.
- Requires some significant standing and speaking.
- Must be flexible with shifts and days off.
- Must have a valid Michigan driver's license, good driving record and be insurable by our insurance carrier.
- Significant travel in and out of town.
- May be required to pass a skills assessment test to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
- Exposure to a smoke filled environment with loud and continual noise levels.
- Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance with the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission and be able to serve in the position under any other applicable law.
