Role & Department Description:FactSet seeks a motivated and technically skilled individual to fill the role of Data Center and NOC Operator within our core Infrastructure team. This critical position is focused on sustaining and improving the functionality and efficiency of our data centers and network systems. The selected candidate will be instrumental in the ongoing monitoring, detailed reporting, and effective troubleshooting that keep our data centers, network infrastructure running smoothly, contributing to the continuous enhancement of FactSet's operational framework.
Responsibilities:- Actively monitor, report, and troubleshoot FactSet's data centers, POPs and hybrid Cloud hosted infrastructure.
- Actively monitor, report, and troubleshoot FactSet's global network infrastructure.
- Engage with carriers to troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
- Coordinate, escalate, and resolve operational events that have the potential of negatively impacting system and application availability to internal or external stakeholders.
- Rack, Stack and cabling of data center equipment, such as Compute servers, Storage, Network appliances.
- Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings, and inventory management.
- Execute structured cabling tasks, including building Ethernet cabling and running fiber cables, amid various network devices.
- Maintain logistics related to shipping and receiving parts and hardware, including necessary documentation and communication.
- Maintain and update procedural documentation for internal teams, ensuring operational procedures are well-documented and transparent.
- Maintain clean and safe working environment within the data centers.
Minimum Requirements and Work Environment: - This is a 12pm-8:30pm Monday - Friday full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
- Working Weekends as needed accommodate 24/7 data center operations.
- Work involves physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting of equipment up to 50lbs.
Critical Skills: - Employee will be working in an environment with a moderate noise level due to server fans and cooling systems.
- 2 years of NOC work experience.
- Proficient in using hand tools for equipment installation and maintenance.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:- CCNA, A+ Certification desired but not required.
- Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, Linux, or Unix.
- Strong knowledge of networking - including switching, routing, troubleshooting principles.
- Proven experience as a Data Center/NOC Technician or similar role.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skill - ability to work with minimum supervision yet having the aptitude to know when to seek additional resources/escalation along with skillful time management.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and prioritize tasks.
Education Requirements: - Associate Degree or equivalent work experience
The budgeted hourly range for this position in the states of Connecticut and New York is $27.00- $31.00.
