Laser Operator

Job Summary: Operate the laser cutting machine. This includes material identification, part nesting, laser operation, shakeout / skeleton removal, counting & organizing finished parts, and basic laser maintenance. Team members are also required to support the production team by assisting other departments by utilizing other fabrication equipment as instructed by the supervisor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Operate the laser cutting machine and other machinery used in the production process, or assist other machine operators • Setup machine based on material type and thickness, load programs per the schedule, and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment. • Become knowledgeable about laser cutting operation, practices, & principles • Shakeout, stack, count, & organize parts upon completion of laser cutting • Perform preventative maintenance on the machines, corresponding with posted schedule. • Maintain consumable supplies and notify supervisor when supplies need to be replenished. • Work with supervisor and maintenance on preventative maintenance requirements. • Work in a fast-paced environment with fast changing priorities • Work with automated material storage system • Keep work area clean and organized • Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task • Uphold all ISO and OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above • Operate other fabrication equipment as necessary to support production • Other duties as required Qualification Requirements: • 2+ years of experience on Amada, TruDisk/TruFlow,Mazak, Cincinnati or similar laser cutting machines REQUIRED • High school diploma or equivalent preferred • Solid background working with sheet metal • Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance • Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills • Ability to distinguish material types including aluminum, steel, stainless steel, copper, and brass #IND294
