Summary Objective The Assembly Detailer will have experience in the creation of work orders, a clear steel fabrication understanding, and an understanding of welds and the processes involved. Also, the ability to communicate with foreman under the direction of the General Superintendent. Essential Functions:
  • Assist in receipt of all inbound materials by checking quantities against project management bill of material (BOM), along with Bill of Lading (BDL)
  • Responsible for dimensional checks of all inbound materials (steel and pipe)
  • Responsible for sorting and staging all materials per the project pick tickets.
  • Assist the QA/QC department with quality and dimensional checks of inbound materials and equipment.
  • Create views for work orders (WOs)
  • Scrub drawings for mechanical and structural
  • Populate and create work order with welds, joint amounts, and task resources.
  • Create pick ticket with shipping and receiving.
  • Responsibilities may require sedentary work, including but not limited to computer operation, video review, classroom or online training, job observations/inspections, and peer work review.
  • Prepares for ISO 9001 and other audits.

Work Environment This position operates out of a fabrication facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. First shift days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel Travel is primarily not required with exception to local travel during the business day. Required Education and Experience
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Project, Word and Excel).
  • Minimum of two years in scheduling.
  • CAD software.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Associate degree in construction management, engineering technology or related field.
  • 5 years in a steel industry, preferably a steel manufacturing facility.
  • Demonstrated understanding of mechanical & pipe fitting, structural fitting and welding standards.
