Job Description: Responsibilities:
- Review process safety information related to the projects that are needed to develop the Integrated Safety Analysis (ISA) and supporting safety analysis.
- Facilitate or participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) team meetings with operations, engineering and safety specialists and ensure proper documentation of the PHA.
- uthor safety analyses that support the ISA such as radiological and chemical consequence assessments, unmitigated likelihood assessments, Fire Hazard Analysis, and Criticality Safety Analysis.
- uthor of Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) required to document the overall likelihood of accident sequences identified in the PHA.
- Conduct ISA Supporting analysis related to Natural Phenomena Hazards (NPH) and External ManMade Hazards (EMMH).
- Develop the ISA Summary documents required to support a new license or license amendment.
- Participate in meetings with the NRC, develop responses to NRC Requests for Additional Information (RAI), and support operational readiness reviews.
- Support review of design changes and ensure the impacts to the ISA and identified IROFS are addressed throughout the licensing, facility modification, and facility construction process.
- Support reviews of IROFS to ensure they are designed and constructed to perform their intended safety function, and management measures are implemented to ensure they remain available and reliable.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Trained on the Fundamentals of Risk Assessment.
- Experience using Quantitative Risk Assessment techniques to demonstrate compliance with the 10 CFR 70.61 performance requirements.
dditional Characteristics:
- Minimum 10 years demonstrated practical safety analysis experience related to 10 CFR 70 and/or 10 CFR 830 regulated facilities.
- Prior experience supporting the SNM-1097 ISA Program.
