OVERVIEWReporting to the Billing Supervisor, Billing Support are responsible for the daily mailing of paper claims for their assigned surgical centers. This will include but is not limited to the following: Medicaid claims and payors that require paper claims.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a resource for all critical aspects of the CBO which includes liaising between departments as well as assisting Level 1 and Level 2 Billers.
- Execute the recurring billing workflow and assist other billing needs when their daily work assignments have been completed.
- Ensure that paper claims include primary, secondary EOBs and MRAN forms for Medicaid Secondary.
- Ensure timely follow-up and resolution to inquiries both internally and externally.
- Reconcile revenue and billing during the month end close process.
- Maintain current knowledge of health care billing laws, rules, and regulations and developments.
- Help with reports/special projects as needed and other duties as assigned in accordance with priority.

- Must have the skills necessary to operate the office equipment required to fulfill job duties.
- High school graduate or equivalent.

- Understanding of Medical Terminology
- Microsoft Excel and Outlook preferred.
- Any of the following: Cerner, nThrive, Advantx, Waystar, Meditech, and/or EffecientC experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of billing guidelines and laws
