** Oversee the counseling internship program, including recruitment, selection, and supervision of interns.Provide training and professional development opportunities for interns, ensuring they receive a comprehensive learning experience.Conduct regular, ongoing supervision (individual and group), support and one to one meetings with interns to review cases, provide feedback, and support their growth, throughout their internship experience at least one hour per week.Conduct regular check-ins, offer guidance on professional development, and address any challenges or concerns.Evaluate intern performance and provide constructive feedback to help them achieve their professional goals.Collaborate with UHH MA in Counseling Psychology program's director, field placement coordinator, and faculty instructors to identify program goals, learning objectives, and evaluation criteria.Coordinate the recruitment process for interns by liaising with UHH MA in Counseling Psychology program's director and field placement coordinator, advertising internship opportunities, and conducting interviews.Create and implement Counseling Center intern training handbook.Develop and deliver training sessions or workshops for interns to enhance their clinical skills, cultural competence, ethical awareness, and professional conduct.Collaborate with faculty and professionals to incorporate evidence-based practices into internship training.Assess intern's performance and progress using established evaluation tools and methodologies.Ensure that interns adhere to relevant state and federal laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines governing the practice of mental health counseling and psychology.Maintain accurate records of internship placements, evaluations, and other relevant documentation.Provide additional support services to interns, including counseling, career advising, and referrals to resources within and outside the university/college community.Collaborate with campus resources to address interns' academic, personal, and professional needs. COUNSELING SERVICES: 25%**Provide direct mental health counseling services to individual students, couples, and groups regarding a wide range of personal, academic and relationship concerns. Including but not limited to anxiety, depression, and trauma. The services include intake interview, assessment, case management, treatment, and crisis intervention, and may require after hours consultation as needed.Conduct initial assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide interventions as needed.Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions in accordance with legal obligations and ethical standards.Provide consultation and professional development for faculty, administration, and staff that addresses the psychological and developmental needs of students.Provide services in an ethically responsible way, consistent with professional guidelines and university policies and procedures. Collaborate with other campus resources and make referrals to external mental health providers when necessary. OTHER 5%** Prepare reports and data summaries as needed for program assessment and data collection.Present the university/college at relevant conferences, workshops, and networking events.Experience writing and implementing grants.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Minimum Qualifications 1. Possession of a Master's degree in Psychology or related field and 3 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for counseling and psychology; of which includes 2 years of supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.2. Demonstrates professional Counseling and Psychology working experience supervising staff who have applied Counseling and Psychology principles, practices and techniques using broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies.3. Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with Counseling and Psychology.4. Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner.5. Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.7. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, apply word processing software, and Titanium.8. If applicable, for supervisory work, demonstrated ability to lead subordinates, manage work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations.9. Licensed or license-eligible as a Mental Health Counselor, Psychologist, or Clinical Social Worker in the state of Hawaii within two years of appointment.10. Two (2) year work experience, full-time and/or graduate level internship, preferably in a college or university setting.11. Experience in supervising interns or trainees in a clinical setting.12. Strong understanding of developmental issues and mental health challenges faced by college students.13. Experience conducting clinical interviews, making diagnostic assessments based on DSM-V-TR, and formulating treatment plans for individuals with a broad spectrum of psychological problems.14. Experience providing counseling and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse student population and a commitment to actively engage in practice with diverse populations within the campus community.15. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.16. Computer skills relevant to counseling documentation.17. Available to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends. Desirable Qualifications 1. Doctoral degree from an accredited university in counseling psychology, clinical psychology or a related field with an emphasis in mental health or clinical counseling.2. Three (3) years of mental health counseling experience, preferably in a higher education setting.3. Experience supervising graduate student interns/practicum students.4. Experience developing and implementing training programs for graduate student interns or early career mental health professionals.5. Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic interventions and crisis management.6. Familiarity with electronic health record systems.7. Demonstrates strong organizational and communication skills.8. Experience working in multicultural settings, and with Native Hawaiian and/or other9. Indigenous populations.10. Experience providing mental health consultation to various stakeholders.11.
