Join our team!About The RoleUnited Health Services, the largest and most comprehensive provider of healthcare services in upstate New York's Southern Tier, is hiring a Surgical Stepdown Staff Registered Nurse to join our team at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. The Surgical Stepdown Unit is a small, collaborative environment monitoring patients coming out of the operating room. Each nurse cares for 3 patients at max. This unit works with a handful of Physicians at once.Schedule: 12 hour shifts; 7-7 days and evenings; every 3rd weekendEssential Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitoring patients post operation – including ventilators and drips
- Monitor critical care patients
- Keeping a close eye on vital signs and rapidly responding when needed
- Administering medications as provided by Physician
- Keeping accurate documentation
Qualifications
- A valid NY RN license
- ACLS certification
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Previous ventilator or drip experience
- 1 year bedside nursing experience
Preferred
- At least 1 year in Critical Care, PACU, Progressive Care in inpatient hospital setting
