Summary/Objective:
Under general supervision, maintains grounds in an attractive and orderly condition by trimming lawns, removing leaves and debris and other related duties. Operates and maintains grounds equipment as necessary.
Essential Functions:
* Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
* Cleaning/blowing off all sidewalks before students/staff start their day, to ensure safety of all.
* Cutting all grass, weed eating, as well as edging of sidewalks on campus, which is basically divided into 4 sections, to be cut every week. These 4 sections include approximately 70 structures or sites.
* Cutting grass on the 9-hole golf course, though no longer in service.
* Spraying areas of overgrown vegetation with weed killer.
* Inspecting roads for debris/trash, repairing potholes in the roads, maintaining the 3+ miles of roads and ditches.
* Maintaining and cleaning storm water drains.
* Weekly garbage pickup for campus residents and daily pickup of all outside trash cans.
* Inspecting Camp Dream Lake Dam and toe drains, providing documentation of inspections.
* Fueling campus golf carts and maintaining on campus fuel tank as well as keeping a gas log for fuel usage.
* Mows and edges lawns, using zero turn mowers and edgers.
* Maintaining historical campus cemetery, cutting grass and making sure graves are clean and roadways are clear.
* General maintenance on mowers (blade changes, tire changes, etc.) and all equipment.
* Assisting all Facility Service Departments as needed.
* Assisting with property moves.

Work Environment:
This job operates throughout the facility, both indoors and outdoors in any weather condition. This role occasionally uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:
Incumbents working in this job perform duties both indoors and outdoors. This is a 40-hour workweek requirement. The position may involve managing a high-volume workload and demands a high level of accuracy while working with deadlines. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is an hourly position up to 29 hours per week. This position requires working in various shifts to provide coverage, and may require holiday, evenings or weekends work.
Travel:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Required Education and Experience:
Six months of related experience AND valid driver's license.
Note: Some positions may require area specific certifications/licenses.
Preferred:
