Technical Design Manager- Women's Knits + Swim

Overview:

The Technical Designer will report to the Director of Technical Design. This individual will be responsible for keeping the department, cross-functional partners, and factories up to date on Technical Design priorities and carrying them through with a focus on Women's Knits + Swim.

You Will:

  • Translate design sketches into technical design packages in Illustrator with specifications and construction details
  • Maintain organized review of fit samples and previous comments for productive fittings
  • Provide and communicate fit and construction revisions through pattern corrections, sketches, photos, or re-draped samples
  • Make sure all notes and changes for fit sessions are reflected and uploaded into our system
  • Lead live model and form fit sessions
  • Provide insight on how garment construction is impacting fit
  • Participate in detail meetings to solidify fit and construction; offer suggestions and solutions for value engineering, etc.

What you bring:

  • Accurate measuring skills
  • Knowledge of basic grading principles
  • Good understanding of fit/pattern correcting
  • Good understanding of construction and garment engineering, Knit product specific.
  • Womens Swim experience a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • A working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and PLM
  • Minimum 5-10 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Excellent communication skills to work with overseas and cross-functional partners
  • The ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe Illustrator & Google Doc.
  • Ability to balance multiple competing priorities and maintain composure under pressure
  • Ability to respond to change positively
  • Capable of seeing the larger picture and understanding how your role impacts and influences the larger business
  • Strong time management skills
