Job Description

The Release of Information (ROI) unit is an integral part of the Health Information Management department. We provide customer service to all callers. We coordinate the release of patients' records in adherence to state and federal laws, as well as MSKCC standards. In this dynamic unit, we liaise with multiple departments in the MSKCC network to ensure that records are released accurately and in accordance to patients' wishes.

You Will:

  • Analyze requests for release of medical information from patients, third party payers, physicians, attorneys and health related institutions.
  • Prioritize and fulfills requests in accordance with legal and institutional requirements.
  • Review the electronic medical record to determine the appropriate medical information required to fulfill the request.
  • Provide information regarding MSK's policy on the release of medical information to patients, attorneys and third party administrators.

You Have:

  • Customer service experience and the ability to handle critical interactions and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, analyze, and resolve routine and problematic accounts within established timeframes.
  • Overall knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Must be flexible and willing to prioritize assignments when needed to meet departmental goals.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

#li-hybrid Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm 2-3 days a week after an onsite training period at 633 Third Avenue New York.

Pay Range $$22.52-$31.13
