Position Summary:The role involves directing and coordinating the daily activities of pavement marking while preparing schedules and managing operations for construction projects. The individual is responsible for ensuring that all personnel under their supervision perform their tasks safely and efficiently.
Essential Functions: - Supervise staff, providing necessary direction and support.
- Manage all aspects of inventory, including conducting cycle counts.
- Ensure that trucks are equipped with the appropriate hardware, tools, and equipment as per standard checklists for specific tasks.
- Manually and with a forklift, load and unload trucks.
- Continuously present cost improvement ideas and suggestions.
- Inspect trucks and equipment, reporting necessary repairs to mechanics.
- Request inventory needs through the Operations Manager and maintain monthly inventory levels.
- Assist the Operations Manager with asset management.
- Identify unsafe situations or practices and take corrective action, including exercising Stop Work Authority.
- Provide monthly updates on equipment or materials that are no longer acceptable for use.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, including sweeping floors and cleaning the shop.
- Assist in the sign shop as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills Required: - Ability to understand and follow given directions.
- Capability to lift and move up to 70 pounds.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Basic carpentry skills, with proficiency in using hand and power tools and operating warehouse equipment.
- Valid driver's license required for forklift operation; certification as a forklift driver is preferred.
- A good driving record is essential, along with the ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.
