Chaplain - Chaplaincy Program# Description: Chaplains for Archbold Memorial Hospital provides spiritual care services under the Department of Spiritual Care# The chaplain provides for the spiritual, religious, sacramental, moral, and ethical needs of patients and staff at Archbold Memorial Hospital and system hospitals as needed Job Summary: Provides and coordinates spiritual care, counseling, and religious services for patients, their families, and staff including, spiritual assessments, sacramental ministry, memorial services, baptisms, weddings, anointing, and coordinating bereavement needs Responds to all Code Blue and Trauma Alerts; assist in helping families remain informed of patient#s condition Documents patient and family care provided Provides spiritual assessment and emotional support to patients, families, and staff in accordance with joint commission requirements Provides appropriate empathy, validation of experiences, active listening skills, strong interpersonal skills, and prayer as requested by patients, family, or staff Supports the end-of-life care for patients by offering spiritual and emotional support and counseling to patients and families Works in concert and support to physicians, nurses, case managers, counselors, and ancillary staff as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team to meet patient needs and to strengthen patient care Develops relationships with local churches, community agencies and service organizations which supports the Archbold community Recruits, trains, and coordinates spiritual care volunteers Follows department procedures for keeping individual records of spiritual counseling for patients May assist in orienting, training, and coordinating the work of Spiritual Care Volunteers The chaplain reports to the Director of Spiritual Care Experience/Education: Master of Divinity (minimum 72 hours)#Major: Theological Studies or Related Field 4 Years of Experience, 2 Units of CPE (minimum) Board Cert Chaplain or working toward BCC Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) within 24 months of hire date Required Skills: Knowledge of philosophical systems and religions Knowledge of the principles and methods of spiritual care and the role of a chaplain in a clinical setting Knowledge of the religious beliefs and practices beliefs and practices of various faiths, groups, and denominations Able to communicate thoughts clearly; both verbally and in writing Interpersonal and listening skills Skill in counseling patients, family members, and staff Ability to counsel and comfort individuals during periods of stress Ability to actively participate as a member of professional therapeutic team Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with co-workers, health professionals, volunteers, community clergy, and the general public Ability to use broader objectives to determine how best to use resources to meet schedules and goals Ability to make or approve effective hiring and termination decisions Ability to make or approve effective hiring and termination decisions# Ability to evaluate and recommend changes to policies and establish procedures that affect the organization General computer skills, including but not limited to: Microsoft office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation and email Perks/Benefits: (for eligible employees): Have optimal opportunity for career growth within our growing organization Medical / Dental Retirement Plan PTO and paid life insurance## # What Sets Us Apart Archbold Medical Center is a four-hospital, four-nursing-home health system with 540 patient beds. Chaplain - Chaplaincy Program

Description:

Chaplains for Archbold Memorial Hospital provides spiritual care services under the Department of Spiritual Care

The chaplain provides for the spiritual, religious, sacramental, moral, and ethical needs of patients and staff at Archbold Memorial Hospital and system hospitals as needed

Job Summary:
