Reporting to the Operations Director, this position will be working at our manufacturing facility in Sweetwater, TX. Ludlum Measurements, Inc. (LMI) designs and manufactures radiation detection instruments and technologies. Founded in 1962 by Don Ludlum, we offer a large array of radiation detection instruments, developed to help monitor the safety of personnel and the environment. Our instruments are used in applications such as routine personnel and material monitoring, border security, military applications, and emergency response situations. Job Requirements Education and Experience
- Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for U.S. security clearance.
- BS in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 4+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment
- Understanding and experience in implementation of lean manufacturing principles using 5S, 8 step problem solving, Kaizen, and Daily Management boards
- Experience in 3D modeling using Autodesk Inventor.
- Experience with database development, data collection and analysis a plus

- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear directions to others and listen actively.
- Ability to work effectively with all individuals within the LMI family of businesses.
- Experience working in a team-oriented atmosphere.
- Strong quality orientation including attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.
- High degree of professionalism and maturity with ability to work independently, problem solve, and make decisions with limited supervision.
- Ability to adapt to changes, delays, and unexpected events.
- Exercise good judgment, keeping in mind company policies and procedures
Job Responsibilities - Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes, flows, and fixtures.
- Support efficient material flow throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Create standard work methods, fixtures, tooling and safety measures
- Analyze manufacturing failures leading to root cause identification
- Work with Quality Assurance to correct part failures and vendor corrective actions.
- Support new product development with guidance on manufacturability and transitioning products to manufacturing
