The Learning and Development Specialist supports the institution's culture of learning and development. This role involves cross-departmental collaboration to support learning and development needs, employee engagement programs, institutional effectiveness initiatives, and providing general support for HR activities such as talent acquisition, onboarding, role transition, and employee relations. Duties and Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, including but not limited to:
- Internal Customer Service: Provide support and assistance to employees to facilitate their learning experience. Address needs related to learning programs, the employee learning management system, and direct employees to appropriate resources. Ensure timely responses to inquiries, supporting Excelsior's commitment to a positive employee experience.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships, both internally and externally, with diverse stakeholders, effectively collaborating to meet their learning needs.
- Employee Engagement: Assist with employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives. Identify and support programs through internal and external channels. Collaborate with Excelsior's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) vendor on reporting and information dissemination and encourage employees to utilize the program.
- Program Management: Design, implement, and oversee programs focused on developing and applying relevant workplace skills and competencies, as defined in Excelsior's performance management framework. Programs include, but are not limited to, new employee support, advancing Excelsior's strategic priorities, relational skills, and service.
- Advise the Executive Director, HR and Talent Development on necessary updates to the program portfolio.
- Maintain the employee learning management system, and ensuring that programs are kept current and relevant, including maintaining and updating broken links, and proactively reviewing new content.
- Work with other units on training needs within the learning management system.
- Track participation and attendance and manage and produce reports as required.
- Design and deploy assessments to measure the effectiveness of learning programs.
- Handle logistics of training programs to ensure smooth registration and access for participants.
- Facilitate and deliver training programs, including both internally generated content and third-party materials, to Excelsior employees.
- Initiative and ownership: Stay current in the fields of training and organizational development. Identity and recommend best practices in learning and development.
- Assists with other human resources projects and tasks as needed.
- Additional Responsibilities: Assist with other human resources projects and tasks, including but not limited to employee support, information processing, recruiting support, and responding to external inquiries.

- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related, or equivalent work experience required.
- 3-5 years in talent development, including designing, implementing, and assessing learning and development programs. General HR experience is a plus.
- Self-initiative and self-management – able to prioritize work and tasks with minimum supervision.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
- Proficient in organizing and presenting information across various modalities (in-person, virtual, asynchronous).
- Project management, coordination and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work and thrive in a diverse, multicultural environment.

The hiring salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $75,000.00. The hiring salary range above represents the University's good faith estimate at the time of posting.
