Systems Administrator- SEK lnterlocal #637 The ideal candidate has excellent problem-solving, communication skills, and is self-driven. The Systems Administrator assist students and staff with their software and hardware needs. The candidate is responsible for the implementation and support of computer applications as well as distribution of hardware. Knowledge of technology including determining capacity needed, setting up and maintaining organizational video meeting equipment, purchasing technology for staff and student use, licensing and installing needed instructional software. They will not only manage technical operations of computers and peripheral equipment, but assist teachers with integrating hardware and software to support instruction. The Systems Administrator job will include technical support, such as troubleshooting and maintaining computer hardware and software, assest management, and device recommendations. The ideal candidate will work within such platforms as Google workspace and Office 365. Network Administrator knowledge a plus. Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • Technology degree, extensive experience, or certification.
  • Technologically savvy, organized, and possess excellent communication skills. Must also have strong problem-solving, research, and planning skills.
  • Able to prioritize and respond to organizational needs. Self driven and able to work independently.
  • Education background preferred.
  • Kansas Special Education License preferred but not required.
  • Hourly rate will be based on education level and experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Recommend specs on equipment purchases, setup devices, minor repair, and devise a staff technology rotation plan. This may include staff and student technology devices using PC or Macintosh, printer solutions, and selecting/installing software.
  • Web Design and Social Media Enhancement: Assist in updating current platforms, enhance communication with all stakeholders.
  • Play a key role in identifying appropriate educational technology for all types of classroom applications, including the needs of special education students.
  • Collaborate with educators and administrators in curriculum design by sourcing or creating new technologies to be used in classroom instruction.
  • Use past program data and outcomes to assist administration in identifying and correcting problems and deficiencies within current technology-based programs. Train teachers and others on using hardware and software in the learning process.
  • Implement and maintain computer networks as well as technology-based learning hardware and applications. Help foster both appreciation for and understanding of how technology can impact learning and in turn, each student's future.
  • Effectively manage organizational technological assets with recommendations for future purchasing as well as ordering needed equipment to address organizational needs.
  • Knowledge of network security and usage, including internet filters and firewalls.
  • General responsibilities include but not limited to, implement protocols for communicating with staff, assist with state assessments, leverage technology for office efficiency, manage onboarding (key cards, email), online system for mandated trainings.
