Fulfills the mission of Norwich University by assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Office of Financial and the operation Title IV program(s). This position focuses on the processing of aid, support and counsel students, and collaboration with external offices as they interface with Financial Aid.

This position is 52 weeks/year, 40 hours/ week.

Salary: $17.00/hour or more depending on experience

Essential Functions

* Counsels current and prospective students and their families regarding financial aid matters.

* Coordinates mass mailings/email to prospective and current students related to financial aid.

* Monitors, orders, and maintains office supplies.

* Maintains department files to include logging received student documents, categorizing and sorting files according to file review readiness, and creating new files as appropriate.

* Answers routine inquiries via e-mail and phone from students, families, and university staff.

* Assists students and families in understanding the options for how to cover any unmet financial need and meet payment deadlines.

* Reads, interprets, and applies Federal and State regulations and university policies as they relate to Student Financial Aid.

* Collaborates with other offices and departments to provide appropriate resources to students.

* Represents the Office of Financial Aid at events on campus.

* Maintains confidentiality of sensitive or private information.

* Communicates with employees, students, and others in a respectful and clear manner.

* Serves on University committees, councils, workgroups, or other designated bodies as assigned.

* Achieves, maintains proficiency in, and utilizes computers, telephones, and other job-related equipment, including related systems and software.

* Speaks, reads, and writes in English.

* Communicates by telephone, email, letter, in person, or other means or device.

* Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

* High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred

* 2 year of administrative work experience; financial aid or higher education experience preferred

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams); experience with Banner and PowerFAIDS or other financial aid software preferred

* Able to sit, squat, reach, push, pull, and manipulate related equipment; lift 15 pounds; travel outdoors to various parts of the campus

* Work some evening or weekend hours

Environmental Conditions

* Indoor work at a computer workstation

* Low level of exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes.
