- Performs and assists the Quality Department in the support and implementation of process controls and data collection throughout the factory. Ensures effective inspection, machining, assembly, and testing procedures are implemented and maintained throughout the manufacturing process.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Create Inspection Plans/OSIs Creates Receiving Inspection (RI) and Operator Self Inspection (OSI)
- Technical Data Packages (TDP) for Receiving Inspection and Operations characteristic data collection.
- Setup & Program CMM / OASIS / MICRO-VU Supports QA Inspectors and Operations by creating setups and programming for equipment used during the inspection of piece parts.
- Determine Causes of Non-Conforming Parts and Product Assists in determining assignable causes of non-conforming parts and product failure and initiates appropriate action to establish controlled processes.
- Provide Training - Provides training to machinists and inspectors on the proper set-up and use of inspection equipment, related standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Provide Technical Support/Data Analysis - Provides technical support to other departments throughout the company. Gathers, organizes, analyzes, and summarizes data, which leads to improved statistical analysis, product and processes.
- Inspection Provides assistance to receiving inspection as needed.
- First Article Inspection Creates CMM, Oasis, and Micro-Vu programs for first article units.
- Recommend Changes - Recommends methods, equipment, procedures, and technique changes as appropriate and/or directed.
- Audit Related Activities - Assists in product/process/supplier audits as per requirements of
Quality System Manual. Audits receiving inspection data packets created by inspectors and Operator Self-Inspection Records created by Operations.
- Total Quality Techniques - Uses total quality techniques, including team participation to recommend ways to eliminate potential quality problems. Improves procedures and work instructions that lead to personal and department effectiveness.
- Knowledge of QSM, SOP's, WI's, etc. - Acquires and maintains a good working knowledge of the
- Quality System Manual, Standard Operation Procedures and Work Instructions.
- Quality Assurance Representative - Acts as Quality Assurance representative on teams as assigned.
- Apparent or Assigned - Performs related work as apparent or assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High school education/GED.
- Two-year mechanical, technical or quality related degree OR three years experience involving Tescom product in one of the following positions: Machinist A, Inspector, Technician, or Tester.
- A minimum two years experience in a quality, production, or test function.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal/written) effectively with customers, suppliers and division personnel.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a cooperative and team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Demonstrated familiarity with basic production processes, usage of machine tools, gages, and fixturing.
- Basic knowledge of statistical process control (SPC).
- Physical ability to lift, carry, or maneuver 40 pounds.
- Demonstrated knowledge of computers.
