Job Purpose:Delivers services to customers by planning, constructing, and maintaining field facilities; managing staff.Duties:* Accomplishes field engineering human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning andPosition : Contract Hardware Engineer Mid.Location: Cedar Rapids, IA, United StatesDuration: 11+ MonthsDescription:Design and implement high-reliability electronic systems, including PCBs, embedded systems, and power electronics.Lead and manage the entire circuit card design lifecycle, from requirements capture and schematic design to component selection and detailed analysis (signal integrity, simulations, timing, and thermal analysis).Generate PCB layout constraint guidelines, create board stack-ups, and oversee routing, layout, fabrication, and assembly of complex designs.Create test plans, perform root cause analysis, and conduct testing of electronic circuits and systems during development and testing phases.Design circuit cards using FPGA, processors, DDR memory, and industry interfaces such as Ethernet, PCIe, I2C, USB, LVDS, and SERDES technologies.Work both independently and collaboratively with team members on assigned tasks.Utilize schematic capture tools like Siemens Mentor Graphics, Xpedition, Altium, Cadence Allegro, EAGLE, or KiCAD for circuit card designs.Familiar with Agile methodologies for hardware development, including planning, tracking, and managing tasks in JIRA.Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., DO-254, DO-160) and manage hardware verification and validation using tools like IBM Doors or Jama.reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.* Achieves field engineering operational objectives by contributing field engineering information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining field engineering system improvements; implementing change.* Meets field engineering financial objectives by forecasting field engineering requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.* Develops field facilities strategic plan by studying service requirements and projections; analyzing functionality of facility locations; identifying new locations and requirements; conducting feasibility studies.* Develops field facilities project plans by scheduling projects; coordinating requirements; obtaining approvals; approving drawings, schematics, specifications, and work orders; hiring contractors.* Monitors field facilities projects by analyzing work loads; inspecting materials and technique; enforcing standards; resolving design and implementation issues.* Maintains field facilities by scheduling and conducting inspections and preventive maintenance visits; repairing and upgrading facilities.* Maintains records by developing and upgrading databases; auditing data input; filing documents.* Represents the organization by presenting information at hearings; coordinating with governmental agencies.* Avoids legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation; enforcing regulations; recommending new procedures.* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.* Accomplishes engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed.Skills/Qualifications:Planning, Staffing, Conceptual Skills, Problem Solving, Developing Budgets, Database Design, Legal Compliance, Presentation Skills, Professionalism, Self-Confidence, Safety Management
