You will be responsible for 6-8 residents on a specific floor, assisting nursing staff in the day to day routines to improve the comfort and lives of the residents.\ \ 3 different shifts - 6:30am - 3 pm, 2:30pm-11pm and 10:30pm-7am.\ \Job DescriptionPOSITION TITLEResident Care Assistant (RCA I)POSITION SUMMARY Provide personal care, socialization support & housekeeping services for Traditional residents. RCA I does not assist residents with medications. RCA I may assist residents with selected treatments as indicated on treatment record.SUPERVISOR Director of NursingRESPONSIBILITIESPersonal Care ServicesFollows the individualized care plan in providing services to residents.Assists residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene and mobility.Looks for health, safety and wellbeing of residents.Documents information pertaining to changes in residents functional status, personal needs, appointments, etc. Attends report at start of shift for information regarding changes in resident needs and/or health conditions.After successful education, assists residents with selected treatments as indicated on the treatment recordResponds to calls from the emergency call system in a timely manner.Responds to resident emergencies; reports to shift supervisor and follows directions.Utilizes appropriate infection control procedures at all times.Delivers food trays to residents rooms when necessaryEscorts residents to appointments when necessarySocializationEncourages socialization among residents.Encourages and reminds residents to participate in activities. Promotes activities enthusiastically to maximize residents interestChaperones activities outside the facility when requested.Housekeeping ServicesPerforms light daily housekeeping as outlined in the service plan (i.e., empty trash, make residents beds, etc.).Assists in keeping the environment safe for residents.Assist with laundry if laundress is off duty.General ResponsibilitiesReport concerns about residents to supervisor and coworkers.Identify supplies needed to perform tasks and report needs to supervisor.Use proper body mechanics and other safety measures when working with residents, and equipment, chemicals, tools, utensils, etc.Attends all mandatory education programs and completes a minimum of 12 education hours annually.Maintain an accurate record of chargeable items in the over-the-counter book.Gardenview OnlyAssist in setting tables, serving meals, clearing tables, washing dishes and cleaning dining room.Launders bed linens and towels for residents weekly. Do personal laundry for residents as needed.Assist in maintaining a clean, comfortable and safe environment by providing housekeeping services as needed.Assist with individual resident and group social/recreational activities as requested; encourages resident participation in activities.QUALIFICATIONS:Must be 18 years of age or older.Educated/experienced providing personal care to seniorsExperience or interest in working with seniorsExcellent customer service skills.Required to work as part of a team.Must be able to lift 30 pounds and physically assist residents with bathing, toileting and dressing
