Summary of Job PurposeThe Rental Shop is a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and has the expectation to provide a well-organized and efficient equipment rental process for our guests. The Rental Shop Supervisor is a leadership role, requiring staff supervision, problem solving and excellent guest service skills to ensure that the expectations of both the Rental Shop and Snowsports Children's Rental Center are meet. The Rental Shop Supervisor duties include supervising and coaching staff in maintaining all rental equipment, documenting repairs, equipment maintenance, function testing and adjusting ski/snowboard bindings and maintaining the proper documentation of those results, proper boot fitting and inventory control. This position requires constant guest interaction, a positive attitude and the ability to professionally lead staff. - This position requires a detailed oriented individual that excels in excellent guest service, willingness to teach technical aspects of skiing and snowboarding equipment and lead the Rental Shop staff by positive example and coaching
- Maintaining an engaged, active and focused staff leadership presence by demonstrating a positive example of Company rules and policies
- Assist in training Rental Associates and Technicians on rules, products, guest service techniques, function and benefits of all products carried in the Rental Shop.
- Assist Manager in assigning certain duties to the employee, explaining how those duties are to be done and ensuring proper completion
- Insure all staff completes Rental Forms, equipment safety checks, equipment accident checks and routine weekly maintenance completely.
- Adjust Alpine and Snowboard bindings to manufacture's requirements/ specifications
- Instruct Guests/employees on the proper use of and size Guests specifically in all Rental Equipment
- Inspect rental helmet inventory regularly to identify potential helmet defects or problems
- Assist with the protection company assets by enforcing cash handling and loss prevention policies and procedures.
- Maintain, organize, clean and inspect equipment inventory
- Keep facilities clean and safe of hazards
- Remove snow from buildings, snow shoveling and deicing walkways
- Lead/supervise technicians in the function testing of equipment and equipment repair
- Provide weekly staff safety meetings, promote a safe work environment and methods
- Assist with other departments and duties as requested
Job Qualifications
- Must have prior supervisory experience and possess leadership skills
- Prior ski/snowboard technician experience preferred
- Excellent organizational skills, possess ability to work in a fast paced, task-oriented environment and maximize use of time
- Possess, or have ability to attain, ski binding manufacture certifications
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Be technically and mechanically minded, with strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to read and to write legibly and to use good composition skills to complete records and report forms.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Possess advanced skiing and riding skills
- Be able to lift heavy and awkward items (up to 50 lbs.), and be able to walk on uneven ground.
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Work SchedulesWeather conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Dodge Ridge employees.When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 40 up to 48 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. During busy periods, you may be expected to work six (6) days a week.You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snowpacked, and icy road surfaces.Working ConditionsAt any time during the ski season, Dodge Ridge employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.Work is typically outside working directly with resort guests and other resort staff members. It can be noisy, cold, wet, or humid. You may be expected to work in high places and frequently you will work around moving objects. UniformsA professional appearance at Dodge Ridge is required. Please wear your name tag and uniform at all times during your scheduled shift. We will provide most of the uniform for you to do your job. However, you will be required to provide some items as part of your job, as listed below. The quality, color, and style of the items must be approved by your manager prior to being worn to work. All hats worn must have the Dodge Ridge logo while on shift.The skiing/riding employee represents a model for safe skiing for both the guest and fellow employees. You are required to be aware of all safe skiing procedures, trail closures, and out-of-bounds policies.
