Job DetailsJob LocationArk Encounter - Williamstown, KYDescriptionSummaryThe Embark Internship Program contributes to the spiritual, personal and professional development of the student. As a Zoo Animal Health Embark Intern the student will learn about veterinary medicine in the zoological setting and will participate in routine zoo animal health care. This position will allow one to impact others through a service mindset centered on making an eternal difference. This position should display our Core Values of SERVE (Serve, Equip, Relate, Value, Engage) when interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure that the message and mission of Answers in Genesis is portrayed in an effective and God-honoring fashion. Responsibilities
  • Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis
  • Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done
  • Approach all tasks with a second-mile mindset
  • Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignments
  • Participate in life skills development courses provided for Embark Interns
  • Participate in Learning & Development apologetics training
  • Serve in the attraction operation departments to display our SERVE core value
  • Interest in zoo and exotic medicine
  • Participate in routine animal exams and procedures
  • Participate in routine laboratory procedures
  • Develop understanding of various aspects of animal health including behavior, husbandry, and nutrition
  • Learn AnimalCare Software, how to complete assignments and make daily notes
  • Work day to day with our veterinary team
  • Complete project assigned by veterinarian
  • And all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
QualificationsRequirements
  • Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith
  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Regularly attends a local Bible-believing church
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
Education & Experience
  • Must have a minimum of 45 College Credits
  • Must be currently pursuing a degree
  • Previous experience with zoo and exotic animals preferred
