We are looking for 1-2 new team members to assist with transporting our residents to appointments and outings. This is a perfect part time position for a retiree that lives in the Delhi area.Job description: The Driver's main responsibility is to safely transport residents from one location to another. They must follow traffic laws and correctly route themselves, ensuring that there is enough gas in the tank at all times for their destination. Drivers need to be flexible with their schedule to accommodate for last minute additions. Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends. This is a part time position.Driver Requirements and Qualifications •Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record•Must be able to pass Dept. of Transportation physical (scheduled if position offered)•Must be able to pass criminal background check•Must be comfortable working with Seniors•Demonstrate safe driving practices•Able to follow verbal directions, read maps, follow GPS•Reliable and punctual with dedicated professionalism to job and duties•Able to adapt to changing schedules or routines•Able to assist passengers with canes, walkers and wheelchairs•Organized and able to follow a schedule•Physically able to push wheelchairs over 200 pounds, bend, lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds•Able to work in a rotation of evenings, weekends and holidays as needed•Willing to drive in bad weather conditionsRequirementsEducational Attainment •High School diploma or GED required.Licensure/Certification •Valid driver's license.
- Fewer than six points for traffic violations at any time. •Commercial Drivers License.
Specialized Knowledge/Skills •Compliance with training requirements of OAC 173-39-20.
- Compliance with Commercial Driver Fitness Determination including drug and alcohol testing.
- Ability to safely operate cars, vans, and buses in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to operate wheelchair lifts and vehicle safety equipment.
- Thorough knowledge of area roads and ability to read road maps.
- Ability to adjust routes in response to traffic or weather conditions.
- Ability to interact with elderly and handicapped in a friendly and professional manner.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information.
- Professional in appearance and behavior.
Kind & Length of Experience •Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Minimum two years driving experience.
