THE POSITION

This position oversees and supervises the construction and maintenance of buildings, roads, and game land management areas to develop new and/or maintain wildlife habitat areas on State Game Lands and private lands. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Game Lands Maintenance Supervisor, you will be required to utilize a Commercial Driver's License in the operation of motorized equipment. In this role, you will be leading Game Land Maintenance Workers Is, Maintenance Workers IIs, volunteers, and other assigned employees or personnel in the construction, maintenance, use of equipment, and techniques for maintaining and enhancing State Game Lands and other lands under lease. This includes construction and maintenance of buildings, roads, and game land management areas. You will have the opportunity to supervise, lead, instruct, and perform wildlife habitat work to include:

* Border cuts

* Browse cuts

* Hedgerow and shrub pruning and mowing

* Fruit tree pruning and daylighting

* Timber stand improvement cuts

* Seedling planting and distribution

* Other forest habitat management

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

* Full-time employment.

* Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.

* Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

* Graduation from high school or equivalency, and four years of maintenance and wildlife habitat development as a Game Lands Maintenance Worker 2, including one year of experience operating equipment such as bulldozers, graders and various combinations of trucks, trailers, tractors and related farm machinery and equipment; or

* Any equivalent combination of experience and training which affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills and Abilities.

Special Requirement:

* This position requires possession of a valid commercial driver's license which is not under suspension.

Additional Requirement:

* You must be able to perform essential job functions.
