Job DescriptionResponsible for evaluating incoming transfer credits to determine equivalency with La Sierra University courses, maintaining the Banner course equivalency table, processing transfer credits onto student permanent academic records in the Banner database, and communicating course equivalencies to current students through off campus registration requests. Reports to the Registrar.Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews incoming transcripts (domestic and international) and enters transfer credit onto student academic records in the Banner database.
- Receives and reviews external exam results, including Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and CLEP, and enters transfer credit onto student academic records in the Banner database.
- Reviews course equivalencies between La Sierra University and outside institutions, as supervised by the Assistant Registrar for Articulation.
- Assists with the annual review of AP, CLEP, and IB credit equivalencies, including setup and correspondence with academic departments.
- Maintains the accuracy of the course equivalency table within Banner; assists with the annual review of continued accuracy of course equivalencies.
- Works collaboratively with the Assistant Registrar for Articulation and Degree Auditors to map, enter, and verify that transfer course equivalency reports are accurate.
- Processes off campus registration requests to determine prospective transfer course equivalency for current La Sierra students.
- Adds new students to Degree Works after their transfer credits are processed; uses Degree Works to review applicability of transfer credits.
- Assists with setup during graduation weekend.
- Shares one student employee with the Asst. Registrar for Articulation.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as the Registrar directs.

Should have previous experience working with an integrated student information system (Banner preferred) and student records; knowledge of the rules, regulations, and laws regarding confidentiality of records; excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills; strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to prioritize and pursue multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines; and ability to work as a part of a team. Language Ability:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public, as this position frequently communicates complex information.Math Ability:Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the Windows environment including Microsoft Office and Ellucian products, i.e., Banner, BDM, and Degree Works.
