The Campus Rec Coordinator is responsible to provide and oversee effective operations for respective Campus Recreation administration, programs, and/or facilities during set work hours. The Coordinator will provide direction to part time and/or student workers by supervising tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures. They are responsible for maintaining safety, reducing risk, and executing job specific functions.
The Photo/Video Coordinator is responsible for managing marketing projects related to the facilities and programs within Campus Recreation. These departments include Campus Recreation Admin., Recreation Facilities, Montview Recreation, Outdoor Recreation, Intramural Sports, Liberty Mountain Equestrian Center, Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre, and Liberty Mountain Gun Club. This position is responsible for leading part time and student employees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for directly overseeing a marketing team of part time and student employees. This includes hiring, training, developing, scheduling and evaluating.
* Responsible for coordinating and leading meetings with the marketing team.
* Produces and coordinates a variety of film, photography, and social media content.
* Assists in development of marketing plans, coordinating video and photo shoots, social media initiatives, campaigns and outreach, and other duties as assigned.
* Assists in the maintenance of social media and design policies through the Campus Recreation style guide, ensuring compliance with University policies.
* Assist in managing content for Campus Recreation social media outlets and website.
* Assist in coordinating promotional tables or events and facilitate the scheduling of student workers from alternate areas to provide a well-rounded promotion of particular areas, events or facilities.
* Collaborates with staff members operating facilities or leading programs and events, to ensure video and social media content best represents each area and its appeal to end users is effective.
* Assists in the development of the events and programming calendar for the marketing team, delegates creation of film, photography and social media content as needed and coordinates proofing and corrections for those materials.
* Occasionally oversee and assist with events or operations during evening, nights or weekend hours.
* Remain up to date on industry standards and performance benchmarks and ensure that Campus Recreation marketing remains effective and current.
* Perform all other tasks assigned by the Associate Director of Marketing. Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's mission.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
* This position is responsible for 1 part-time and 5 student employees.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Required Qualifications:
* Four-year college degree from an accredited university in Studio and Digital Arts, Digital Marketing, Digital Media, Visual and Cinematic Arts, Film Production, Photography, or Strategic Communications field
* Experience with photography and video editing
* Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically: Premiere Pro, Lightroom, and Photoshop)
* Understanding of trends on social media platforms
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent organizational skills, problem solving ability and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
* Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically: After Effects Illustrator, InDesign).
* Earned or progress towards Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, Master of Arts in Strategic Communication, or related field.
* Experience leading a team
* Project management experience

Work Environment
* The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lit and the noise level is moderate.
Driving Requirements
* Use of one's personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) is required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
