This position relates in coordination with other employees in the retirement community, particularly the CEO & CFO and other administrative personnel.

Qualifications of Front Desk Receptionist Must have basic office experience including typing. Computer skills preferred. Must have the ability to follow instructions and procedures. Ability to work occasional weekday hours (8 a.m. - 4 p.m.), every other Saturday (10 a.m. - 1 p.m.) and be on a holiday rotation (9 a.m.-1 p.m.). Ability to fill in for other team members in the event of a call off. Must speak English. High school diploma required. Must support the mission and values of Fairmount Homes. Essential Duties of
Receptionist 1. Displays a positive approach and courteous manner in all interactions and communications. 2. Answers the phone at the main switchboard. 3. Assists visitors at the front desk. 4. Processes incoming and outgoing correspondence and other mail.5. Assists with copying needs as requested.6. Receives resident payments and processes resident or guest purchases.7. Coordinates schedules and reservations for vehicles and various rooms.8. Aids applicants interested in working or residing at Fairmount.9. Distributes office supply orders to other departments and maintains an organized supply closet.10. Communicates with the Lead Receptionist and Receptionist Manager.11. Completes the daily front desk tasks assigned.12. Follows the opening/closing procedures of the office and lobby areas prior to coming and leaving for the day.13. Continually visually monitors the front door to assure that confused residents do not wander out.14. Performs other duties as required by facility needsPhysical Demands of
Receptionist 1. The physical activities of this position involve: grasping--done occasionally; kneeling--occasionally; lifting--occasionally (up to 10 pounds occasionally); reaching--occasionally; standing--frequently; stooping--occasionally; walking--frequently; sitting--frequently. The sensory and communicative activities essential to the performance of this position include: hearing, seeing, and speaking, all activities done constantly daily. 2. Must have the composure to function calmly and professionally under stressful conditions when dealing with frustrated or angry employees, residents, volunteers and the general public, either in person or on the phone; and to deal with emergency, critical, unusual, or dangerous situations. Must have ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another. Must have ability to communicate with others clearly and concisely, both in person and on the phone. Must be able to maintain confidentiality with all office and resident information. Must be a team worker, able to work well with a variety of older adults, family members, volunteers and staff.
