Technical Editor

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Technical Editor, you will provide services in support of the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM). You will support the creation and publication of technical documentation and manuals.

You will support NETCOM in the collection and interpretation of technical data or information and coordination of layouts for publication to Army Enterprise programs at various life cycle stages. You will support NETCOM by providing technical, administrative, and operational leadership to assigned project or tasks.

We are looking to hire a full-time Technical Editor Senior to support our IT services contract located at Fort Huachuca, AZ.

**HOW TECHNICAL EDITOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:**

+ DoD and DA technical documentation development, parlance, and regulatory guidance.

+ Proofread, review, revise, and edit technical information for contractors and government employees with the end goal of producing accurate, clear, concise, and accessible written materials.

+ Read and edit documents for clarity, punctuation, grammar, style, and content, while adhering to Army and NETCOM rules and regulations concerning documentation.

+ Create, edit, update, and store NETCOM templates, as well as generate, assign, and store Document Control Numbers (DCNs). DCNs are important in that they give each document a clear, concise, and most importantly, unique identifier, used to locate the document when needed.

**WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:**

+ Education: BS and 2 yrs experience (will consider other experience in lieu of degree)

+ ITIL 4 Foundation Certification is beneficial, but not required.

+ Security Clearance Level: Secret clearance preferred

+ Required Skills and Abilities: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

+ Ability to create or modify graphics, tables, and figures.

+ Experience with desktop publishing, multimedia production, and online documentation software, as well as excellent computer and word processing skills and strong writing, editing, proofreading, and page composition skills.

+ Ability to adhere to deadlines and work well under pressure, as well as possess a strong attention to detail

+ Preferred Skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Visio

+ Location: On Customer Site (Ft. Huachuca, AZ)

The likely salary range for this position is $55,250 - $74,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
