Job DescriptionJob Summary:Diagnoses and completes less complex repairs to engines at the customer's site.We are looking for a talented Marine Field Service Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Morgan City, LA). will make an impact in the following ways:We offer Sign On Bonus, Relocation, Competitive Pay and Benefits!
  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintain own tools
  • Schedule is 14 days on-call/7 days off rotation
  • 18 weeks off per year to enjoy
  • 48 hours weekly guarantee
  • Ability to volunteer to work on off weeks
  • Hours per day are as the job demands, mostly night calls
  • Can require in and out of country travel, ability to obtain a passport may be required
You will make an impact in the following ways: •Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools•Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies•Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products•Maintain own hand tools; specialty tools are provided•Commercial marine work-large vessels, rigs, tugs, OSV; Cummins/GE/Wabtec engines•Schedule is 14 days on-call/7 days off rotationIn order to be successful in this role you will need the following:Responsibilities(Intermediate):
  • Completes complex internal engine repairs
  • Performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision
- Technician Level II: Some relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on an intermediate number of products in-scope for technician at this location; primarily engaged in moderately complex maintenance and repair; some exposure to moderate or complex diagnostics, requires limited direct supervision, may provide basic training or guidance to new technicians.QualificationsDOT- A current valid license is required for this role- Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations Education, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Basic level field service work experience Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products Customer service experienceCompensation and BenefitsBase salary rate commensurate with experience.
