Akrometrix, LLC is an Atlanta based company looking for a product engineer to primarily perform product development on Akrometrix metrology tools. This is a diverse role in the company where the key competence of the engineer is to further the design and technology of Akrometrix' product line.
Expectations:
· Design or integration of optical metrology and vision systems
· Layout complex optical designs
· Qualifying optical components (lens, filters, lasers)
· Contribute original and innovative ideas to team and company offerings
· Perform CAD design work with Solidworks software on new product designs or product improvements
· Applicants are not expected to have any incoming knowledge of Akrometrix technology
· On the job training provided to become proficient with Akrometrix core technologies
· Applicants should be self-starters and able to learn quickly
· Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills are required as this position must quickly come up to speed and interface across applications, operations, and sales teams to further Akrometrix products
· High work efficiency and ability to balance between multiple tasks and responsibilities
· Strong ability to troubleshoot problems
· Strong organizational skills
Education:
· BS/MS/PHD in Engineering or Sciences degree related to optics or engineering/science/physics degree with comparable work experience with optics/vision systems
Experience
· Optical Metrology or Vision system implementation/design experience; required
· Experience with at least one optical design software tool, preferred
· Experience specifying optical, opto-mechanical, laser, and/or sensor components to comply with system requirements, preferred
· Non-contact metrology experience, preferred
· Proficiency with CAD, Solidworks, preferred
· Understanding in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, solid mechanics, manufacturing systems, process optimization and automation, preferred
· Electrical or mechanical knowledge of laboratory equipment; beneficial
· Working knowledge of semiconductor or microelectronics industry; beneficial
· Software development experience in Python/MATLAB/C/C++, beneficial
· Familiarity with Fourier Optics, Statistical Optics, and Computational Optics, beneficial
