DescriptionAre you looking for a part-time job that enables you to make a difference?We're looking for compassionate, reliable, experienced individuals who enjoy working with children to join our thriving school age child care program as group leaders. Our team collaborates to provide programs that foster a child's social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth. To succeed in this position, you should be patient, enthusiastic, and fun-loving, with a passion for child development and care. Age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age. This is a part-time position with hours available Monday through Friday from approximately 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. Candidates must commit to at least 2 shifts per week. Up to 20 hours per week are available in this particular role. Additional hours can be worked in other areas.Staff are not guaranteed to work at a specific site. Site assignments are at the discretion of the hiring managers. POSITION SUMMARY:The YMCA of Central Kentucky's part-time After School Group Leader provides direct supervision of children and is responsible for the successful implementation of quality after school care. The Leader promotes and supports the potential of all youth in programs and facilitates peer-to-peer connections as part of the overall experience. Group Leaders assist the Site Director in the implementation a culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate curriculum that creates a positive and nurturing environment.The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.WORK ENVIRONMENT:Characteristics of the work environment are representative of those that may be encountered by an employee while performing the essential functions of the job.
