Positions Available: 1Reports to: Building PrincipalSupervises: Students and others as assigned by the School Principal.Primary Function: To provide all students with an enriched environment containing requiredinstruction. To prepare classroom for class instruction. Provide a variety oflearning materials and resources for use in educational activities. Observe andevaluation students' performance and development. Assign and gradeclasswork, homework, tests, and assignments.Minimum Qualifications:? An earned Bachelor's Degree (A) or higher.? Mississippi Educator License with Teacher Endorsement.? Ability to effectively communicate both written and orally.Major Duties and Responsibilities:01. Meets and instructs classes in the assigned locations and at designated times.02. Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilitiesof the students.03. Creates a classroom environment that is conductive to learning and appropriate to the maturity andinterests of the students.04. Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediatesupervisor.05. Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.06. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with thegoals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects to communicate these objectivesto students.07. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physicallimitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities o the individuals or student groupsinvolved.08. Strives to implement, by instructions and action, the district's philosophy of education andinstructional goals and objectives.09. Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports asrequired.10. Diagnoses the learning disabilities of students on a regular basis and seeking the assistance of districtspecialists as required.11. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, andfacilities.12. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, andadministrative regulation.13. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct,and for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintainsorder in the classroom in a fair and just manner.14. Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for educational-related purposes outsidethe instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.15. Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for Assistant Teacher(s) and volunteer(s) and,cooperatively with department heads, evaluates their job performance.16. Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.17. Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.18. Performs additional duties as assigned and directed by the principal.
