International Tax Manager
We are searching for an International Tax Manager to join our well-established and highly profitable regional CPA firm. The ideal candidate will oversee and manage intricate tax situations, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of clients' tax returns. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs technical tax review and approval of all tax returns and governmental tax examinations of any complexity.
- Assumes full responsibility for larger tax returns and delegates to various tax preparers as deemed necessary.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge and proficiency in advising clients on advanced technical tax issues.
- Ensures all tasks related to client service are performed within budgeted time.
- Actively participates in client meetings and tax planning efforts to aid the Auditing and Accounting Department with larger clients.
- Serves as a tax issue resource for tax preparers/specialists and A&A staff.
- Handles the more complex business tax returns personally.
- Takes client service responsibility for clients worked with directly or those delegated by the Partner.
- Communicates important tax developments affecting the firm's clients to appropriate personnel.
- Delegates and manages governmental tax examinations; represents the client before the taxing authorities when required.
- Ensures smooth workflow of tax returns through the tax preparation system to guarantee timely preparation and delivery to all clients.
- Ensures all billing and collection processes are executed accurately and timely.
- Engages in firm practice development through involvement with referral sources, community, and industry activities.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Minimum of five to seven years' experience in public accounting, showing a proven progression in tax complexity, scope, and research.
- Extensive experience in international consulting and compliance.
- Familiarity with US domestic and international tax compliance forms for high-net-worth individuals, pass-through entities, and corporations.
- Knowledge of international tax concepts such as subpart F, GILTI, PFIC, foreign tax credit calculations, and income tax treaties.
- At least one year of experience supervising and directing the work of tax preparers.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
- A current and valid certified public accountant's license or JD is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in taxation.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership skills and experience in managing a team of tax professionals.
