WOODPATEL is seeking a talented and team-oriented Water/Wastewater Practice Leader to become part of our growing company in Phoenix, Arizona. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in water/wastewater analysis and design.

In this leadership role, the responsibilities include overseeing a team of skilled engineers, engaging with clients, and ensuring the successful completion of projects. The preferred candidate should demonstrate a successful history in designing, implementing, and managing water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Additionally, the ideal candidate should have established strong relationships with agencies and municipalities that can be leveraged for effective business development efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead marketing and business development efforts with municipal, agency, and private clients for the department.
  • Coordinate with Clients to determine scope and scheduling requirements of projects.
  • Assigns personnel to provide engineering and technical support to ensure maximum efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Provide technical leadership in the preparation of basis-of-design reports, improvement plans, and other design documents necessary for projects.
  • Participate in effective presentations to councils, the public, and selection committees.
  • Maintain project records for client and company purposes.
  • Supervises and mentors assigned staff.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • BS in Civil Engineering, AZ Professional Engineer's license, or ability to quickly obtain AZ professional engineer registration.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in Water/Wastewater related design.
  • Relevant experience shall include master planning and design of water, reclaimed water, and wastewater facilities such as treatment systems, distribution pipeline systems, collection pipeline systems, booster pump stations, lift stations, storage reservoirs, and groundwater well systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a team atmosphere.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to plan, organize, supervise, coordinate technical work, and satisfy clients.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, including speaking, listening, and writing.
  • Capacity to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills with limited supervision.
  • Must demonstrate technical understanding of industry design software.
  • Ability to promote corporate/office standards for safety and quality of work.
  • Ability to recognize a project's critical path and continually plan for project success.
  • Take ownership of key performance indicators and civil engineering designs completed by the team.
