Machinists for Nidec Minster will work in an engineered-to-order job shop environment where our products are made one at a time requiring many setups and holding close tolerances.Job Responsibilities:Function as a working supervisor in performing both direct labor work and supervising machinists, as required.Act as a technical expert in troubleshooting and resolving machining and/or equipment problems, as required.Assist and/or lead projects in both the development and implementation of new machining processes.Evaluate current machining processes and make recommendations for improvements in process flow, productivity, and quality.Provide leadership and support in achieving and/or exceeding Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Delivery targets within the department.Operate multiple CNC machine tools such as mills, lathes, and machining centers with multiple axes.Perform machine setups, tool setting, loading, and unloading of fixtures.Inspect parts using precision measurement instruments (mics, calipers, bore gauges, etc.)Perform preventive maintenance and follow/enforce maintenance plans to ensure machines are operating in good condition.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.Act as a Mentor and train employees on CNC machines with multiple axes.Translate engineering drawings and requirements into dimensions for manufacturing.Define and document job setups based on part families, size, fixtures, and required precision.Determine feeds and speeds to maintain optimal quality and manufacturing of parts.Perform in-process and final workpiece measurements to verify parts meet all required specifications.Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other reporting tools to determine production requirements.Accurately maintain and provide operations data, such as labor reporting, production order confirmations, quality notifications, etc.Assist in the development of productivity targets and hold employees accountable for meeting expectations.May be required to act as a working supervisor in performing both direct labor work and leading machinists, if needed.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Specialized training in CNC machining with a minimum of 10 years experience.Minimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience.Ability to read complex engineering drawings, work with tight tolerances, and demonstrate a high level of detail.Ability to edit CNC programs (Adjust feeds, speeds, etc.)Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to ensure that the Program Validation process is followed and adhered to by others.Ability to understand G and M code.Familiarity with programming and interpreting CNC software.Able to identify, build, and measure tooling per the tooling list.Strong leadership qualities.Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.Experience with conversational programming preferred.Flexibility to work and/or provide support in training machinists on multiple shifts, as required.Leadership experience in machining preferred.Domestic and/or international travel may be required.An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer, M/F/D/VNidec Minster Corporation will not accept unsolicited resumes from individual recruiters or third party recruiting agencies in response to Nidec Minster Corporation job postings.
