We're always on the lookout for smart people who are committed to continuous improvement, customer service and quality.JOB DESCRIPTIONJOB TITLE: Manager, Plant Finance FLSA STATUS: ExemptREPORTS TO: Manager, Corporate Finance (FP&A) SUMMARYThis is responsible and complex administrative work requiring the analysis, verification, coordination, and maintenance of data for the preparation of the Financial Cost Statements for a Manufacturing location of the Company. It also includes monitoring compliance with the administrative policies and procedures issued by the President and her staff. Under general direction of the Corporate Financial Manager, FPA, the Financial Manager directs and supervises the work activities of the Financial Coordinator and processes all financial data in accord with corporate financial policies..RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Assures proper process of Accounts Payable
- Directs the activity of the Finance Coordinator
- Maintains, analyzes, and interprets General Ledger account balances and ensures their accuracy, including the evaluation of entries made by Corporate
- Gathers and substantiates information for the development of the Plant's budget
- Assists the General Manager and Department Managers with understanding the financial reports and with gathering information they may require
- Advises and monitors compliance with administrative policy and procedure
- Is an integral part of the managerial team at the Plant
- Understands and is the source of information pertaining to the financial use of the computer system
- Investigates production reports by asking questions of the manufacturing staff
- Is familiar with manufacturing processes and their representation through the Bills of Material and can complete the B.O.M. forms effectively for a change or new product
- Ensures accurate and timely general ledger and period-end closings
- Assist Materials Department with period-end inventories [includes participating in physical inventories, interpreting tags and reports, and entering data into computer]
- Prepares data for and works with auditors as required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- A minimum of two years of cost accounting or manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
- An understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- A minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Must possess a desire and ability to dig into the story behind the numbers .
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Possesses the ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices.
- A minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select Assessment (Traditional Score of 26 on the cognitive portion).
