The City of Port Townsend is recruiting to fill one opening in the Facilities division of our Public Works Department. The vacancy will be filled at either the Maintenance Worker Apprentice, Maintenance Worker, Operator I, or Operator II level depending on experience.JOB SUMMARYUnder general supervision performs a variety of tasks in the maintenance, repair and operations to various City facilities, to ensure that facilities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, custodial, carpentry, painting, HVAC operations, plumbing, and electrical trades work. Operates a variety of maintenance and cleaning tools and equipment; and performs related work as required. The City of Port Townsend strives to provide safe, equitable, and inclusive access to parks, recreation and City facilities to foster healthy living and strengthen the bonds of the community.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms maintenance and repair activities to City facilities including painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and concrete work.Conducts routine inspections and maintenance of heating, electrical, and air conditioning equipment; replaces filters; identifies and reports more complex maintenance needs to supervisor.Operates a variety of tools and equipment including bucket truck and power tools when needed to accomplish tasks.Performs custodial duties including restroom cleaning, emptying garbage and recycle cans, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.Cleans and maintains facilities to acceptable standards.Inspects facilities and grounds for safety and security;
