The Program Assistant (PA) provides administrative, tactical, and operational support to the Noninfectious Diseases (NID) department executive team (ET). With minimal supervision, professional discretion, and independent judgment, the PA is responsible for coordinated support across the department to ensure the NID portfolio adapts, grows, and surges to meet the evolving needs of the organization, partners, and the department.This position is based in Atlanta, GA, with an expectation to work in the office at least four days per week. Relocation expenses are not provided.Duties and ResponsibilitiesLeads day-to-day administrative, logistical, and tactical support for the NID executive team, including but not limited to calendar management, triaging and responding to internal and external requests, leading preparation and logistical support for internal and external meetings, and managing travel and expenses.Supports the NID program services team with staff onboarding and offboarding, interview scheduling, new vendor process, procurement, contract tracking, and other Program Services responsibilities.Serves as a cross-departmental liaison within the CDC Foundation and ensures effective communication and coordination with other departments.Collaborates with other members of the organizational administrative team to provide seamless support for the organization.Supports the NID executive team in managing documents and files, conducting research, and collating information.Identifies trends and communicates potential issues to promote continuous process improvement and the successful execution of department initiatives.Represents the CDC Foundation at administrative, logistical, and tactical meetings with internal and external partners.Participates in and/or leads special projects and other duties as assigned.Qualifications and Necessary SkillsBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis on public health and/or business administration focus required.Minimum of one (1) year of professional experience providing administrative, logistical, and tactical support to programs/projects required.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong technical skills including calendar management, word processing, and database management.Skills and experience in conducting research and literature reviews, synthesizing information, preparing and editing briefing documents, and creative problem solving preferred.Experience with enterprise resource planning systems and software packages used to manage day-to-day business activities such as accounting, procurement, and project management preferred.Knowledge and skills needed to be effective in managing the support of NID department executive leadership in internal and external contexts.Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills; collegial, energetic, and able to develop productive relationships with colleagues, donors, and partners.Sound judgment and maturity, exemplified by consistent professionalism in dealing with individuals at all levels both internally and externally.About the CDC FoundationThe CDC Foundation helps CDC save and improve lives by unleashing the power of collaboration between CDC, philanthropies, corporations, organizations, and individuals to protect the health, safety, and security of America and the world.
