This role ensur es the seamless operation of our clients' network systems by providing high-quality cabling solutionsDuties/Responsibilities:Cabling Installation: Plan, install, and maintain network cabling systems, including copper and fiber optic cables, following industry standards and best practices.System Installation: Install and set up audiovisual systems, including projectors, displays, sound systems, video conferencing equipment, and control systems, following manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.Network Equipment Setup :Assist in the setup and configuration of networking equipment, such as switches, routers, and servers, ensuring proper connectivity and cable management.Cable Testing: Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of installed cabling infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and compliance with specifications.Labeling and Documentation: Label cables and maintain detailed documentation of cable layouts, connections, and any changes or additions to the network infrastructure.Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network cabling issues promptly, collaborating with other IT professionals when necessary.Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.Client Interaction: Interact with clients to discuss project requirements, provide technical recommendations, and address any concerns or questions regarding cabling solutions.Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of cables, connectors, and related equipment, and ensure the availability of necessary supplies for projects.Required Skills/Abilities:Strong knowledge of network cabling standards, including Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cablingProficiency in using cabling tools and equipment, such as cable testers and termination toolsFamiliarity with networking protocols and equipment setupExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailEffective communication and teamwork abilitiesEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or coursework in network cabling is a plusProven experience as a network cabling technician or in a related fieldPhysical Requirements:Physical stamina and the ability to work in various environmental conditionsEEOC: DreamFields is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
