Consider this opportunity.Here is what you will be doing:The Privacy Specialist is responsible for assisting the Privacy Manager in ensuring Ontario Health (OH) programs comply with privacy rules and regulations. As part of this role, the Privacy Specialist provides privacy advisory services, supports privacy operations, assists in developing and implementing the privacy program, and supports the Privacy Manager as required.As a Privacy Specialist, you will have the opportunity to:Develop privacy policies and procedures.May be required to conduct privacy impact assessments for small to medium complex initiatives.Support investigating privacy incidents, patient inquiries, and privacy requests of any kind.Identify and assess privacy risks.Provide privacy advisory and support to business teams.Lead and participate on project teams as the privacy subject matter expert.Identify privacy requirements.Develop strong relationships with various internal and external stakeholders to foster a culture of privacy.Respond and provide advice and legislative interpretation for information and access requests, consent management requests, complaints, or inquiries, appeals and privacy issues under the Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.Support privacy program projects and activities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Privacy Office.Develop and deliver privacy training for Ontario Health.Other duties as required.Education and Experience1 to 3 years relevant experienceRecognized access and privacy designation (CIPP/C) is preferred.Recognized security certification or designation is an asset.Bachelor's degree in health care, health informatics, public or business administration or another relevant field is preferred.Experience conducting privacy impact assessments is an asset.Direct operational level privacy experience preferably in a health sector and/or IT environment is an asset.Knowledge and SkillsDemonstrated knowledge and experience of access and privacy requirements and practices, preferably related to the health and public sectors.Thorough understanding of privacy-by-design  and best practices.Experience with conducting and/or providing oversight for privacy impact assessments including developing privacy requirements, risk mitigation plans, corporate policies and developing and/or delivering training content.Knowledge of technology architecture and infrastructure, digital health solutions and services, enterprise and corporate IT including information and cyber security preferred.Working knowledge of digital health technologies and information security industry standards.Excel in a fast-paced and project focused environment.Exceptional analytic and creative problem-solving abilities.Strong written and verbal communication.Location: Ontario (currently hybrid; subject to change)#LI-RN1Employment Type:Permanent Full timeContract Length:N/ASalary Band:Band 4External Application Deadline Date:December 12, 2024All applicants must be a resident of Ontario to be considered for roles at Ontario Health.Ontario Health encourages applications from candidates who are First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and urban Indigenous; Francophone; members of Black and racialized groups; 2SLGBTQIA+ communities; trans and nonbinary individuals; and people living with disabilities.Ontario Health is an accessible employer, and we offer accommodation in all aspects of employment, including the recruitment process.
